Pellets or fuel pellets – pressed wood product made from dry wood chips of coniferous species, the size of the pellets: diameter 0.23 in(6 mm), length 1.18 in - 1.57 in(30-40 mm). The raw materials used for the production of pellets are supplied to the production from the ecologically clean forests of the north of the Kirov region. Coniferous wood varieties serve as an excellent raw material for the production of pellets. According to their energy characteristics, wood pellets are not inferior to traditional fuels: natural gas, coal and oil, ahead of them at a lower price, and the environmental parameters of pellets are generally out of competition.
One ton contains 1.3 cubic meters of wood pellets, the combustion of which releases energy of 5000 kW. The same amount of fuel energy is released during combustion: 500 liters of diesel fuel | 685 liters of fuel oil | 1.6 tons of firewood.
